"As a senior in high school, I knew that my passion lay in computer science. Till my junior year at The University of Texas at Austin, I was enjoying my classes and was proud of my choice when the question of doing a masters in the field of CS started to crop up within my parents. At that time, this question completely frazzled me because I knew it was a tough decision to make, and it was better if I started to think and prepare for it early on. This question, however, got answered thanks to my internship at Cohesity, where I worked on the cloud team. Going into the internship, I only had a little experience in Java and Python, and I was so intimidated by the team I was placed in. But, thanks to my mentor, who guided me through the architecture of the distributed systems framework of the company, and answered my dumb questions, I fell in love with distributed systems. Today, I can confidently say that I want a masters in CS with a specialization in distributed systems!
This made me realize that in times of high pressure, it is always good to take a deep breath and stay calm. With a little bit of hard work and determination, the solution will come to you!"
